Is phone dating right for me?

As I was setting up this blog I got asked lots of questions. Many people have asked me if phone dating is right for them. I find that this question is hard to answer, but I usually give them a few bits of advice to help them along the way.

Phone dating is quite private and you can give out as little or as much personal information as you want to. You will have to chat with someone eventually (if you want it to work), but even then you can simply hang up if you start feeling uncomfortable! All phone dating companies will have a privacy policy. Take some time to read/listen to it before joining.

Chances of meeting someone?

Phone dating has similar chances of success as Internet dating. Women have a very good chance of getting responses simply because there are less women on most phone chat systems. As the popularity of phone dating increases the percentage of women to men is becoming more even and the amount of successful matches will rise.

Costs of phone dating

Phone dating can cost anywhere from almost free (call connection costs) to quite expensive for the fully featured phone chat lines (most will offer a free trial at least!). You can find free phone dating services if you search hard enough!  However, it is worth remembering that the quality services offer much more than just a chat line. Some mobile dating providers even offer GPS (proximity) dating, pictures and much more. Depending on your situation this might be well worth the extra fee!
