Differences between the types of dating
Some people might still be a bit confused about the differences between phone dating and other types of dating so in this post I am going to try and clear that up.
Phone Dating
Members use their telephone or cell phone to meet people. They are given a mailbox (for messages) and a chance to create their own profile for others to listen to or view (available to cell phone dating only). They can make contact with members by leaving a message or entering direct phone chat with them.
Internet Dating
Members use the Internet to meet other singles. Users can create a profile and can view other profiles. From these profiles they can choose to contact members via an internal message system similar to email.
The Bar/Club Scene
While it doesn’t suit everyone this is a popular method of meeting people. It gives you the chance to talk to many people in one night (and collect many phone numbers if you are good at it). There are high levels of social interaction and you must be confident to succeed.
Speed Dating
Most people have heard of this as the phenomenon rose to new heights in the recent past. Members get a set time to talk with others and they rotate through the partners. The brunt of many sitcom jokes this method is seen as a less successful method, but many people have found what they are looking for this way. Again this requires high levels of social interaction.
Personals
There are phone personals, newspaper personals and even those seedy personal sections in “those” magazines. You simply place an ad about yourself and what you are looking for and people respond to it.
I hope this clears up the differences in the many forms of dating. If you have any questions or think I have missed a topic let me know via comment or email!
